Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available for a skilled and dedicated Physiotherapist to join the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service on a flexible basis, contributing to the provision of Acute Care.

The service operates throughout the Health Board, with the specific base determined by the successful candidate, who will provide care across various locations.

We welcome applications from both English and Welsh speakers.

Key Responsibilities

As an independent practitioner, you will manage patients with intricate and specialized needs across diverse care environments.

Collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals, is essential to deliver patient-centered care.

You will also be responsible for training, educating, and supervising staff members.

Contributing to the advancement of professional practice and the evaluation of service delivery is a vital aspect of this role.

Engagement in service evaluation with a focus on value-based care and complex audits within your area will be expected.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • MSc or equivalent level of specialized knowledge and experience.
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses/CPD.
  • Familiarity with applicable clinical guidelines at both local and national levels.

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualification.
  • Independent prescribing capability.

Experience

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in acute paediatric physiotherapy.
  • Experience in audit/research (clinical and organizational).
  • Experience in formal and informal teaching.
  • Experience within healthcare systems.
  • Proficient in advanced physical manipulation techniques.

Desirable:

  • Experience collaborating with Paediatric Consultants or similar professionals.
  • Experience teaching at the postgraduate level.

Aptitude and Skills

Essential:

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, and written).
  • Ability to utilize specialized clinical reasoning skills for differential diagnosis independently.
  • Advanced assessment capabilities.
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of manual handling and advanced treatment techniques.
  • Capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Skills in coaching, mentoring, and instructing.
  • Proficient IT skills.
