About the Role
The Research Support Officer role within Pre-Award operations is crucial to the success and financial performance of UCL Eastman Dental Institute. This position ensures accurate and timely grant applications are submitted, and when awarded, these are reviewed and set up efficiently and effectively to enable the research to start, in accordance with any internal and external requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake financial checks to ensure research and innovation proposals are costed and priced in accordance with TRAC and FEC methodology and in line with both UCL and the Funder terms and conditions.
- Provide expert practical advice on all aspects of pricing and costing research activities, including choice of funder, terms and conditions of funding, overhead recovery, and optimising the chances of success of a proposal.
- Collaborate with researchers and administrators to guide departments on how to approach non-standard situations/complex funding calls, and in concert with the Research Contracts team as required.
About You
You will have experience in analysing, interpreting, and responding to detailed written documentation. You will be able to work under pressure and juggle workload without compromising priorities. You will have a proven track record of circulating complex financial information to non-experts and personnel at all levels. We are looking for someone with great problem-solving skills and who is very customer service oriented.
