About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide specialist psychological services to individuals with complex neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention services to patients with complex disabilities.
  • Develop and implement plans for formal psychological treatment/intervention/care packages, based on an appropriate conceptual framework.
  • Communicate complex, sensitive, or contentious information to clients, carers, families, and professionals in a manner overcoming barriers to understanding.
  • Exercise full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and within the context of the multidisciplinary care plan.
  • Carry out highly specialist assessment of patients' mental capacity, working with multidisciplinary professionals and other agencies as necessary.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
  • Experience of specialist neuropsychology assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
  • Ability to develop and use complex multimedia materials for presentations in public, professional, and academic settings.
  • Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate.
