Role and Responsibilities:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an instrumental role in the school's commitment to providing exceptional educational support. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the SENCO and class teachers
  • Supporting students with their learning activities in the classroom
  • Helping students to understand instructions and stay focused on their tasks
  • Providing one-on-one support for students with specific needs
  • Encouraging and promoting the inclusion of all students within the classroom
  • Preparing learning materials under the supervision of the teacher
  • Helping to manage classroom behavior and creating a positive learning environment

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with SEN
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning or equivalent
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
