About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Valuation Manager to join our Strategic Property Department at Powys County Council. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of our property valuation service and the effective management of our land and property portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of the property valuation service, ensuring compliance with RICS Red Book and CIPFA best practice.
- Provide strategic valuation advice to the Professional Lead, Council's senior management team, and elected members.
- Contribute to the commercial and transactional sections of the estates practice, maximising capital and revenue income by optimising the estate through the implementation of the corporate rationalisation programme.
- Lead on Council valuation and regeneration/re-development matters, including the preparation and reviewing of Asset Valuations.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Property team to continually improve processes and procedures, ensuring that our buildings are maintained to a high standard and are performing for their intended purpose.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in property valuation and management, with a strong understanding of RICS Red Book and CIPFA best practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
