Join Our Team as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs in a Specialist School.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safeguarding, SEN, and mental health. You will work closely with the class teacher, providing 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of additional needs. Your duties will include behavioural management, personal care, and emotional support, as well as helping to run engaging lessons that make the classroom a fun and safe place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with mental health needs in a Specialist School
  • Work closely with the class teacher to provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Assist with behavioural management, personal care, and emotional support
  • Help run engaging lessons that promote a positive learning environment
Requirements

We are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children. You will need to be proactive, understanding, and ready for a challenge. A general understanding of safeguarding, SEN, and mental health is essential, as is the ability to work using your own initiative.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive daily rate of £80-£90, as well as the opportunity to work in a unique and rewarding environment. You will have the chance to work alongside a Psychologist and Therapist based on-site at the school, gaining valuable experience and skills in the process.
