We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority to recruit a locum Team Lawyer to oversee their People function.

The ideal candidate will have specialist experience within Adult Social Care Law and be able to oversee a team, covering areas of law to include Children's Social Care, Adult Social Care, Health and Housing.

The position involves carrying a caseload of complex matters, ideally within Adult Social Care, and advising on, preparing and conducting proceedings, acting as an advocate for the Council and Court, tribunals, inquiries and other statutory or legislative hearings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision and mentoring of junior staff across the division and have the skills, knowledge and expertise required to excel in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing a team, covering areas of law to include Children's Social Care, Adult Social Care, Health and Housing
  • Carrying a caseload of complex matters, ideally within Adult Social Care
  • Advising on, preparing and conducting proceedings, acting as an advocate for the Council and Court, tribunals, inquiries and other statutory or legislative hearings
  • Responsible for supervision and mentoring of junior staff across the division

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive
  • Local Government Experience
