Job Summary

Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Key Worker to join our team in a Gaelic Medium nursery setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a curriculum that supports the all-round learning and development of children, while also promoting the use of the Gaelic language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver a curriculum that meets the needs of children in a Gaelic Medium nursery setting
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high-quality learning environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with children, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote the use of the Gaelic language
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience working in a nursery or early years setting
  • A qualification that meets the Scottish Social Services Council's requirements for Practitioners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to speak and read Gaelic
  • A commitment to promoting the use of the Gaelic language in a nursery setting
