As a vital member of the IT Senior Leadership Team and the IT Projects division within the IT, Security & Data directorate, you will:
  • Oversee a dedicated team comprising two Project Managers and one Project Officer.
  • Facilitate the successful execution of projects by supporting the IT Projects team.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Principals and Assistant Directors.
  • Design and implement comprehensive programmes of work managed by the IT teams, catering to approximately 45,000 end users across multiple locations.
  • Develop and lead the annual programme plan alongside agreed-upon projects.
  • Take ownership of the IT lifecycle refresh across various academies, collaborating with external partners to ensure a multi-year technology upgrade.
  • Guarantee that all projects are meticulously planned, managed to meet quality standards, and delivered within the agreed timeframe, budget, and specifications.
  • Ensure that all programme and project documentation is thoroughly completed and approved.
  • Manage programme budgets and associated project finances, often amounting to millions.
  • Engage with organizational stakeholders to establish user needs, requirements, timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Oversee resource allocation across various programmes.
  • Implement effective change management strategies.
  • Ensure seamless transition of projects into operational status.
  • Prepare requests for proposals and invitations to tender.
  • Plan and manage the preparation and distribution of programme and project communications.
  • Exemplify the desired behaviours for the wider directorate, embodying the team's vision and mission.
  • Chair various Programme and Project Boards.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures for programme and project management services.
  • Collaborate with Principals to understand client needs, develop tailored strategies, and provide a cost-effective service while defining and delivering agreed projects.
  • Organize regular reviews with Academy IT leads.
