Position Responsibilities:
We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer to become a vital part of our team in a full-time, permanent capacity.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and execute projects within the discipline, ensuring both technical and financial management of significant assignments, while also providing motivational leadership to the engineering team.
You will collaborate with the department Director to manage engineering resources and client expectations, guaranteeing that all projects are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Executing planned work schedules and projects within established timelines and budgets.
- Addressing client requirements, defining project technical specifications, managing costs, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Assisting the department director in overseeing engineering resources within the Structural Engineering team.
- Supporting business development initiatives to enhance and diversify engineering capabilities.
- Implementing best practices within the Structural Engineering team.
- Leading major projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Preparing designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings, as well as conducting risk assessments for improvement, refurbishment, and new construction projects.
- Creating schedules for dilapidations, improvement schemes, structural surveys, and insurance reinstatement projects.
- Responding to urgent requests for action or advice regarding hazardous structures.
- Providing expert advice to clients on construction and refurbishment projects while promoting surveying services.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
To maintain our exceptional service delivery, candidates should possess a combination of commercial experience, professional training, and industry knowledge, demonstrated by the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a Structural Engineering-related field.
- Professional membership with the Institute of Structural Engineers, with a commitment to achieving Chartered status.
- Possession of a current site card or willingness to obtain one promptly.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of relevant construction and health and safety legislation, including risks associated with asbestos.
- Access to specialized design tools (including CAD, Revit, Robot & Tekla) will be provided, and familiarity with these or similar tools is essential.
