About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Fitter to join our client's team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing both reactive and planned maintenance on heavy plant machinery, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy plant machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  2. Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, including 3-Phase 400V electrical systems
  3. Working with CNC machinery controls, including Heidenhain and Fanuc
  4. Ensuring the upkeep of LBD plant and utilizing Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certification in daily tasks
  5. Collaborating with the team to ensure operational efficiency and contributing to the maintenance of a safe working environment

Requirements:

  1. Experience in mechanical and electrical fitting within the rail or industrial sector
  2. Solid understanding of reactive and planned maintenance processes
  3. Familiarity with heavy plant machinery and CNC machinery controls
  4. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and schematics
  5. Experience with 3-Phase 400V electrical systems and MEWP certification
  6. Versatility in handling various maintenance tasks and a strong problem-solving ability
