Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Neurophysiology Specialist to become an integral part of our dynamic team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive Clinical Neurophysiology services across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to quality improvement standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Neurophysiology Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Conducting a full spectrum of neurophysiological assessments for both adult and pediatric populations, including but not limited to Electroencephalography (EEG), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), and Evoked Potentials (EPs).
  • Collaborating closely with the Lead Neurophysiologist and other healthcare professionals to enhance service delivery and patient care.
  • Participating in ongoing training programs, contributing to the development of clinical scientist trainees.
  • Maintaining effective communication with patients and their families, ensuring a supportive environment.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and departmental audits.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • A degree in Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent specialized training.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in performing a variety of neurophysiological investigations independently.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

  • Registration with RCCP, HCPC, or AHCS.
  • Experience in long-term monitoring techniques, including diagnostic video-telemetry.

Skills and Competencies

Essential:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Competence in utilizing diagnostic equipment and technology.
  • A solid understanding of Clinical Neurophysiology principles and practices.
