Service Technician for Material Handling Equipment

In addition to supplying various types of forklift trucks, from powered pallet trucks to wire-guided systems, Rushlift also hires and maintains an extensive array of industrial machinery, including sweepers, mobile plants, and lorry loader cranes.

Your role will involve servicing and maintaining a diverse range of materials handling equipment to ensure high standards, identifying potential repairs or faults to guarantee maximum reliability and uptime.

You will conduct PAT and lifting equipment inspections, ensuring adherence to all site health & safety regulations and PPE protocols at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on materials handling equipment, including forklifts, side loaders, and reach trucks.
  • Utilize our leading Fleet Management System to manage parts orders, job sheets, and warranty tasks.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience for our business clientele.
  • Schedule all Planned Maintenance with customers.
  • Coordinate workload with the Field Service Team Leader, prioritizing tasks as follows:
  • SG Fleet
  • Chargeable Services
  • Key Accounts, including National and Regional Major Accounts
  • Assist Patch Engineers as needed.
  • Ensure all chargeable services are completed monthly.
  • Guarantee all fleet servicing is finalized by month-end.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Operations Controller regarding:
  • Service completion
  • Estimate requests
  • Damage requests
  • Clearing out WIP
  • Conduct lifting equipment examinations as required, in collaboration with the Field Service Team Leader.
  • Perform PAT testing as necessary, liaising with the Field Service Team Leader.
  • Execute other tasks as directed, in line with the efficient operation of the organization and within the individual's skill set.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in servicing, repairing, or maintaining materials handling equipment (MHE), construction machinery, agricultural equipment, or powered access machinery (MEWP), including forklift trucks.
  • Knowledge of automotive, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Relevant technical qualifications are advantageous.
