Construction Health and Safety Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead our Property Health and Safety team. As a key member of our Property function, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and customers across all our construction sites and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead Health and Safety Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential health and safety risks across our property portfolio.
- Manage Health and Safety Systems: Oversee the development and implementation of health and safety management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Reporting and Governance: Provide regular health and safety reports to senior management and participate in Property Health and Safety Governance Forums to ensure effective decision-making.
- Contractor and Employee Engagement: Ensure that contractors and employees comply with health and safety legislation and adhere to our policies and procedures.
- Incident Investigation and Management: Investigate and manage incidents, near misses, and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide guidance and support to employees and contractors to ensure a progressive health and safety culture.
- Statistical Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and report on health and safety statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships, share best practices, and promote a health and safety culture.
- Professional Qualifications: Member of a relevant professional organization and undertaking continuing professional development (CPD).
- Health and Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of health and safety management systems, including fire safety.
- Legislative Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of health and safety and related legislation and its requirements.
- Landlord Requirements: Knowledge of the health and safety requirements of landlords and how these work in practice.
- Communication and Engagement: Excellent communication, engagement, and motivational skills to drive a health and safety culture.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to produce management information and identify trends.
- Coaching and Development: Ability to coach and develop employees to drive performance improvement.
- Influence and Leadership: Ability to influence business decisions and lead by example to promote a health and safety culture.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify and prioritize risks to ensure effective health and safety management.
- Incident Investigation: Experience in incident investigation and management to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Training and Development: Ability to identify training needs and provide guidance and support to employees and contractors.
