Position Overview

Role Summary

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Site Operations Engineering Lead to join a prominent player in the specialty food sector.

This role requires a visionary leader capable of swiftly implementing effective strategies to oversee a site Maintenance division while fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement across their area of influence. The Site Operations Engineering Lead will conduct technical performance evaluations and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives. This position is integral to the Site Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive preventative maintenance strategy for the facility.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance activities within the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency and availability in collaboration with production teams.
  • Manage utility operations effectively.
  • Guarantee that all maintenance tasks and equipment are handled safely and efficiently, adhering to necessary standards and protocols.
  • Plan, organize, and delegate tasks within areas of responsibility.
  • Supervise the development and maintenance of staff competencies.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations among staff and contractors.
  • Prepare and present a detailed annual budget covering all relevant expenditures.
  • Develop and monitor formal control systems to manage repair costs and spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with corporate engineering teams to design, plan, and execute Capital Improvement Projects, ensuring timely completion and realization of expected benefits.
  • Act as a champion for Health and Safety, ensuring adherence to quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Perform administrative tasks consistent with the responsibilities of this role.

Candidate Profile:

  • 3-5 years of relevant managerial experience in a food production environment.
  • Professionally qualified engineer.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems. Proven ability to apply root cause analysis techniques and resolve issues effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems.
  • Experience with computerized preventative maintenance systems is highly desirable.
  • Possess a strong presence on the production floor and the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Commitment to excellence and adherence to company values.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and achieve results through others.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at both strategic and operational levels.
