Job Description:

As a Conveyancing Legal Assistant at Reed, you will play a crucial role in supporting our conveyancing solicitors in managing residential and commercial property transactions. Your responsibilities will be focused on ensuring the smooth progression of cases from instruction to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist solicitors with the management of conveyancing files, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and mortgage documents, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct searches and deal with enquiries, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors, providing excellent customer service and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Manage and update case management systems, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents, in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a conveyancing, legal assistant, or related administrative role, with a strong understanding of property transactions.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
