Job Title: Surgical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a Surgical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments to identify potential risks and develop personalized care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in perioperative care, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting positive experiences and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Level 1 Registered Nurse - Paediatric nurse (Degree or diploma level)
  • Recent 2 years post-graduate experience in appropriate specialty
  • Able to deliver high standards of care and recognize poor performance
  • Post-graduate experience in surgical care or anaesthetics

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
