Director and Actuary - Actuarial Support to CICB Chief Actuary

About the Role

At Corebridge Financial, Inc., we're dedicated to helping individuals make informed decisions about their financial futures. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Chief Actuary in providing actuarial and financial expertise to our Corebridge Insurance Company of Bermuda (CICB) management team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Director and Actuary, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality analysis and support to the CICB Chief Actuary. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of CICB's Economic Balance Sheet, including the Best Estimate Liability and Risk Margin, and providing insightful analysis and attribution of periodic changes and sensitivities.
  • Analyzing Bermuda Statutory Financial Statements (SFS) to develop a comprehensive understanding of earnings drivers for CICB's lines of business.
  • Developing and executing strong governance and controls, including executing Model Owner responsibilities and participating in periodic Pricing & Underwriting Committee meetings.
  • Leading CICB's annual assumption review and unlocking process.
  • Participating in strategic planning and analysis of assuming new flow business and in-force blocks of business to CICB, as well as other special projects as they arise.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a bachelor's degree and be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). You'll also need to have a strong understanding of key profit drivers for various products, as well as statutory and GAAP accounting knowledge. Additionally, you'll need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with both business partners and business unit actuaries. A minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience is required, with cross-functional experience in valuation, capital management, experience studies, and asset liability management (ALM) being highly desirable. You'll also need to have demonstrated success working in cross-functional collaborative teams and with senior management.
