As a Vice President specializing in Generative AI, you will be instrumental in optimizing our large language model (LLM) powered AI products. Our team is dedicated to creating scalable LLM-based solutions and reusable backend APIs. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including the Machine Learning Centre of Excellence, AI Research, and Cloud Engineering, to promote innovation and deliver high-impact solutions that maximize Return-on-Investment (RoI). Your role will involve ensuring that our APIs are designed for scalability, capable of managing extensive requests without sacrificing performance. By establishing clear interfaces and a separation of concerns, we empower other teams to utilize our APIs in developing their own machine learning products, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate extensive data resources with advanced AI technologies, including LLMs and Multimodal LLMs.
  • Bridge the gap between scientific research and software engineering, requiring proficiency in both fields.
  • Work closely with cloud and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to lead the design and implementation of production architectures.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • PhD in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Experience in a hands-on role within machine learning engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing teams of skilled ML engineers and scientists.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, optimization, and machine learning theory, particularly in NLP and/or Computer Vision.
  • Practical experience in developing distributed, multi-threaded, and scalable applications using frameworks like Ray, Horovod, or DeepSpeed.
  • Ability to align with business goals and articulate clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Experience as a responsible owner of ML services in enterprise settings.
  • Solid understanding of computer science principles and best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines using Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) with tools like Kubeflow, DVC, or Ray.
  • Ability to develop batch and streaming microservices exposed as gRPC or GraphQL endpoints.
  • Proven experience in parameter-efficient fine-tuning and model quantization of LLMs.
  • Hands-on knowledge of prompting strategies such as Chain-of-Thoughts, Tree-of-Thoughts, and Graph-of-Thoughts.
