About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Software Engineer to join our growing team at Proofpoint. As a Quality Assurance Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing software tests to ensure that our products meet customer and business requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with integration development teams to understand projects, consult on testing strategy, implement framework upgrades, and implement automated or manual tests
  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and test scripts
  • Collaborate with the Product team to align QA objectives with business objectives on a continual basis
  • Perform both manual and automated testing of software applications
  • Identify and document defects and work with development teams to resolve them
  • Assist in the development of test automation scripts and generic, reusable test frameworks
  • Contribute to the improvement of quality and software development processes and methodologies
  • Participate in code reviews to identify and mitigate testing-related issues
  • Participate in incident management process, helping to identify and mitigate sources of preventable incidents

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in software automated testing and quality assurance
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of software development and testing principles
  • Experience with test automation and scripting in Python
  • Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (Jira, Shortcut)
  • Experience testing mobile, web, and/or desktop applications
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing (Jmeter, Loadrunner, Locust)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
