About the Position

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality patient care? Join our welcoming and supportive theatre team in an environment where patient safety is paramount, allowing colleagues to enhance their skills and advance their careers. We aim to elevate your career beyond your expectations.

We are seeking a registered theatre professional to join our dedicated team, committed to providing top-notch, patient-centered care within dynamic and diverse departments. We are looking to fill a Band 6 position for an Operating Department Practitioner or Nurse. You will lead and collaborate with the Urology Theatre teams, ensuring exceptional patient care and acting as a resource for this specialty while serving as a deputy for the Clinical ODP manager.

You will be responsible for planning and managing the implementation of individualized care programs for patients throughout their perioperative journey, across both general and specialized theatres, whether in acute or community settings.

We place a strong emphasis on personal and professional growth. You will undergo an in-house induction and competency program, along with a Theatre Practitioner Band 6 Skills and Expectations Development Program. Our support extends beyond a set period; our Clinical Educators are available in the clinical setting to provide guidance and encouragement whenever needed. Additionally, we offer a Royal Devon-wide Buddy scheme and opportunities for further courses to support your ongoing professional development and career advancement.

General Theatres - Engage in a variety of specialties in both elective and emergency settings, including Orthopaedic Trauma, ENT, Max-Fac, Plastics, Breast, Vascular, General Surgery (including upper GI/Colorectal), and Urology (including robotic procedures). The Anaesthetic Team also covers Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the Centre for Women's Health, as well as remote area Anaesthesia across the hospital (including MRI, Endoscopy, Cardiology, etc.).

Working Schedule: A combination of day shifts and late shifts over four days, with one weekend in four, plus on-call duties from home.
