Motor Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Motor Engineering Manager to join our team at Employment Specialists Ltd. As a Motor Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of multi-skilled Motor Engineers, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage staff to support them in completing tasks
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure swift conclusions
  • Recruit and train new employees
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies
  • Conduct performance reviews of staff
  • Coach, counsel, and performance manage employees
  • Create Department goals
  • Communicate progress, needs, and updates to Senior Management
  • Problem solve and deal with customer/client complaints
  • Complete own Engineering jobs, establishing the best repair method for damages in line with manufacturer guidelines on both new and registered vehicles, including authorising and challenging repair costs as well as estimating damaged vehicles via images
Requirements:
  • Experience of Motor Engineering team management
  • Motor Industry knowledge and experience in Engineering
  • IAEA Membership (preferred)
  • ATA VDA and AQP accredited and committed to maintaining this
  • Personable and approachable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence and ability to deal with customers and colleagues across all areas of the business and levels of seniority
  • Excellent personal organisation, administration, numeracy, and literacy skills
  • The ability to see the bigger picture and understand how issues connect
  • Complaint handling regarding vehicle repair and cost
  • MI reporting, both internally and externally with the ability to analyse the data
