Quality Lineside Engineer Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen in Airbus UK Broughton for someone to join the Quality Team as a Quality Lineside Engineer.

The successful candidate will be supporting the evaluation, coordination, and monitoring of achieved levels of conformity in the product, process, and services provided by the Business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality Support and Advice: Provide specialist Quality support and advice on drawings, parts, processes, and support services, ensuring that Quality requirements have been met.
  2. Quality System Surveillance: Ensure that the Quality system is adhered to within the business through surveillance activities.
  3. Certification Processes: Ensure that certification processes are consistently defined and applied within the business.
  4. Quality Issue Coordination: Coordinate and lead reported quality/technical issues from teams and customers, ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken by the accountable function.
  5. Initial Investigations: Perform initial investigations (e.g., Events, QLB's, NC's) to assess probable root cause, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventative action is taken.
  6. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct investigations to assess the probable root cause of any deficiency noted during process confirmation activities, ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken.
  7. Quality Overview: Compile and present Quality overview to the leadership team within the business area.
Required Skillset
  1. Interpretation Skills: Ability to interpret drawings.
  2. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to problem solve and use associated problem-solving tool sets (PPS, 5Y, Ishikawa etc).
  3. Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills - ability to challenge appropriately whilst maintaining strong relationships.
  4. Data Analysis Skills: Data analysis skills - interpret data sets, graphical data and draw conclusions.
  5. Teamwork: Work well as part of an integrated team alongside operational and cross-functional team members.
  6. Quality or Engineering Background: Quality or engineering based background (desirable) within a major manufacturing industry.
