About the Team:

The Valuation and Strategic Assets (VASA) team operates within the broader Climate and Inclusive Growth directorate. This team is dedicated to the strategic management of land and assets. The council's properties are vital for delivering services across health, children's services, leisure, libraries, and educational institutions.

VASA comprises a diverse group of multi-disciplinary professionals who provide support and expertise across the Council while collaborating closely with external partners, including the NHS. The team is responsible for generating revenue through the commercial investment portfolio while ensuring that social value is derived from community assets and that these assets are secure and effectively utilized.

About the Role:

Lambeth is dedicated to fostering a sustainable and vibrant third sector, having recently introduced a new Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Asset Strategy. A crucial aspect of this strategy is to enhance communication between the Council and VCS tenants.

The Community Engagement Officer plays a vital and unique role in facilitating collaboration between the Council and the VCS within the Borough. This position holds significant potential to drive meaningful change across the community.

The Officer will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data related to the social value outcomes from the VCS portfolio. Additionally, the post holder will develop technical property expertise by providing property-related guidance to the sector, in conjunction with the Council's managing agents.

A collaborative mindset, strong communication, and analytical skills are essential for this role. Familiarity with commercial property and knowledge of key landlord & tenant and health & safety regulations would be beneficial.
