Staff Nurse - Acute Assessment Unit

Location: The Wellington Hospital, London

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shift Times: Monday - Sunday, internal rotation, flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends required

Salary: Competitive, plus 9% shift allowance

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Acute Assessment Unit at The Wellington Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating high standards of nursing care for patients requiring urgent medical or surgical consultant review.

  • Manage the referral service for medical and surgical caseloads, ensuring patients are assessed, treated, referred, and discharged appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, deputising for Senior Staff Nurses in their absence while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Initiate improvements in clinical issues and delivery of care.
  • Document all aspects of patient care and report incidents and complaints, participating in thorough investigations.
What You'll Bring
  • Registered General Nurse with NMC pin.
  • Experience in a similar unit or accident and emergency is essential.
  • Previous experience in Critical Care is desirable.
