Job Title: Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Nurse to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and families, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

About the Role:

The Specialist Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert nursing care to children and families, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with families, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RSCN, or equivalent).
  • Experience of working in a paediatric setting, preferably in a specialist area such as home parenteral nutrition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Knowledge of child protection procedures and policies.
