About the Fellowship

Phoenix Public Health Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Bariatric Clinical Fellow. This is a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience in bariatric surgery and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in theatre sessions and provide inpatient care, including conducting daily ward rounds and supporting the Resident Medical Officer with clinical enquiries.
  • Cover weekday out-of-hour patient emergency calls and enquiries, as well as participate in a weekend on-call rota.
  • Conduct follow-up clinics for NHS patients and new patient consultations.
  • Answer clinical enquiries and liaise with other hospital teams when patients are admitted to NHS facilities.
  • Keep records of patient discharges, HDU stays, M&M events, and present data in regular meetings.
  • Review and action blood tests, and assist with clinical audits related to patient care.
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Peri-CCT level in General Surgery (or equivalent).
  • Good laparoscopic surgery skills with previous experience in laparoscopic fundoplication and/or intra-corporeal suturing.
  • Meticulous clinical standards and an excellent work ethic.
  • Excellent English language skills.
