Job Summary

GSL Education is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Primary Teaching Assistant. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and support students in their progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Preparation and Delivery: Assist subject teachers in preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals and overcome challenges.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive relationships between students, teachers, and staff.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Support teachers in assessing student progress, maintaining records of achievement, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Additional Educational Needs: Assist students with additional educational needs, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD, providing tailored support to meet their individual requirements.
  • Behavior Management: Support the school's behavior management policies, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Classroom Discipline and Engagement: Assist subject teachers in maintaining classroom discipline and engagement, promoting a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
Essential Requirements
  • A degree in Education or a relevant subject area is preferred but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and a commitment to their educational development.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
