About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Education Director to join our team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a key member of our Faculty of Medical Education, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of medical education in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management and quality control of Foundation Programmes across Glangwili General Hospital
  • Work collaboratively with the Local Faculty Team to ensure programme meets required standards for training
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance trainee experiences and outcomes
  • Collaborate with HEIW and the Wales Foundation School to align programme goals with national priorities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current substantive contract as an NHS consultant, SAS Doctor or General Practitioner in Wales
  • Significant experience of working within the education/health sectors
  • Experience of teaching in Higher Education
  • Medical degree and Higher degree
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with evidence of strategic thinking
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to establish academic and professional credibility quickly
