About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Base Materials Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
  • Deal with emergencies, breakdowns, and repairs
  • Check and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy
  • Breakdowns: Use diagnostic and fault-finding methods to establish root cause and repair plant and equipment ensuring minimal downtime
  • Always adhere to safety protocols and regulations
  • Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly
  • Ensure continuous cover of machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
  • Provide training to operators to enable them to perform routine basic maintenance activities
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated with new technologies and best practices in maintenance engineering
  • Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues and improve overall efficiencies
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
  • Manage external contractors while on-site
  • Assist with new plant builds and installations across sites
Requirements
  • A mechanical engineering apprenticeship or qualification
  • Industrial or manufacturing background
  • Electrical and mechanical training/experience within an industrial setting
  • Desirable: An electrical engineering qualification, Working at Heights, Fabrication manual machining/fitting/welding, Planned Preventative Maintenance, PLC Fault Finding / 3Phase
