Behaviour Mentor Role

At GSL Education, we are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at our school in Doncaster. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional help to manage their behaviour and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with behavioural challenges on a one-on-one basis, helping them to develop strategies to manage their behaviour and improve their academic performance.
  • Develop and implement effective behaviour management plans, working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting support plans as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and respect, and promoting a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, ensuring they are informed and involved in their child's education.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a mentoring or support role, with a strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations, with a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to their learning.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
