Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Role Overview

As an integral member of the Maternal Medicine team, the successful candidate will be tasked with delivering midwifery services to expectant mothers with existing health conditions. This role involves providing direct maternity care in collaboration with the maternal medicine consultant and multidisciplinary teams (MDT). You will assess, plan, implement, and coordinate maternity care pathways tailored to each woman's needs.

Key Responsibilities

The position offers a unique opportunity for a skilled Midwife to contribute to the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. We seek a candidate who is dedicated to offering maternity care to a diverse group of women experiencing complex pregnancies, particularly those with a focus on maternal medicine and diabetes management. The role encompasses both outpatient services and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a proactive individual with outstanding interpersonal abilities, committed to working within a dynamic team that prioritizes exceptional care for our patients.

As the appointed professional, you will provide direct clinical support for women with medical challenges in conjunction with the maternal medicine and obstetric teams. Close collaboration with patients will be essential to effectively plan and coordinate care based on their unique requirements. Evidence of clinical leadership, resourcefulness, and the capacity to work independently in a demanding environment is crucial.

We take pride in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to our women and their families. Our multidisciplinary teams are dedicated to working closely together, fostering a culture that meets the specific and individual needs of women from various social and cultural backgrounds with complex requirements.

Work Schedule

The position typically requires a commitment of hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, with some variations and on-call responsibilities.

We are committed to maintaining a supportive culture that encourages professional development, which may include funding for further education, leadership training, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
