About the Role

As a Network Management Engineer at Network Rail, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our telecoms network, which is essential for the safe and efficient movement of passengers and freight trains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor and react to key business and operational infrastructure alarms to minimize disruptions to our services.
  • Diagnose and assess the impact of faults before working with resolver teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide remote support to field engineers to ensure timely resolution of faults.
  • Configure and maintain various telephony platforms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document and share knowledge with engineering and support teams to ensure seamless handovers.

About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for managing and maintaining our vast telecoms network, which includes over 21,000 devices and 50,000 services. You will have the opportunity to work with various management platforms and build relationships with field technicians across the country.

Requirements

  • Experience in telecom network management, with a strong understanding of voice networks, station information, and security systems.
  • Practical experience of fault finding and fault resolution, as well as managing planned maintenance and network interruptions.
  • Telecoms qualifications, such as a degree or relevant experience.
