Job Title: Environmental Health Officer

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Fort William, is seeking an Environmental Health Officer for an initial 3-month contract. The role will involve working on a hybrid basis, with a mix of home and office work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out Environmental Health Regulation and Advice duties, as delegated by the organisation.
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the Environmental Health Team by ensuring performance targets are met and customer care is developed.
  • Liaising and working closely with Senior Environmental Health Officers on special projects.
  • Deputising for the Senior Environmental Health Officer, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Broad-based experience in Environmental Health and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Must hold the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health or have received confirmation from the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) of the equivalency of their qualifications.
  • Working knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft office applications.
  • A current UK driving licence and a commitment to regular travel across the organisation's area.
  • Experience of working with the Civica APP (Flare) computer system.

Working Hours:

This role will require flexible working hours, including occasional evening and weekend work to carry out food hygiene inspections, food poisoning investigations, environmental protection investigations, and other tasks as dictated by management and service needs.

Benefits:

This role offers a rate of £25.38/hour PAYE and the opportunity to work with a public sector organisation in Fort William.
