The creation of a global delivery model, KPMG Delivery Network for Audit (KDN Audit), is set to significantly advance these objectives. We envision a network of global, regional, and specialized delivery centers that offer standardized services (on a cost recovery basis) to engagement teams across all member firms. The advantages are numerous: enhanced audit quality through centralized, consistent execution of specific audit procedures, allowing engagement teams to concentrate on more complex tasks or serve additional clients. Our multinational clients will benefit from a more uniform experience worldwide, while most member firms can expect improved margins. Additionally, the firm will have a framework to swiftly implement new and emerging solutions (ESG) and audit innovations (audit technology).
Role Summary
KDN for Audit is a vital element in executing the Global ESG Assurance strategy, essential for enabling member firms to scale their assurance practices in a swiftly evolving market.
Our vision is for the KDN ESG Assurance team to support every ESG Assurance engagement across the global network, providing access to leading market expertise and highly standardized services to ensure consistently high-quality delivery. The CSRD in the EU is anticipated to create a multi-billion dollar opportunity for KPMG in ESG assurance; however, to meet this demand, we require substantial capacity and subject matter expertise. KDN will be the sole avenue for member firms to tackle this challenge, representing a transformative opportunity for the firm.
We are in search of a Senior Manager to act as a Carbon Accounting Subject Matter Expert, collaborating with global leaders to enhance the profile, lend credibility to ESG sales initiatives, and oversee the delivery of assurance services. This role offers the chance to contribute to a more sustainable future while working alongside exceptional colleagues and the brightest minds at KPMG.
Your Impact
To thrive, KDN ESG Assurance aims to leverage existing investments in ESG knowledge, experience, and processes to deliver top-tier services throughout the KPMG network. The focus of this role is to develop a framework and solutions that are innovative, purposeful, and suitable for adoption across the network.
We are looking for someone who can contribute to our growth and success, as new projects and service developments are always on the horizon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Representing KPMG and enhancing the assurance brand from an international perspective.
- Supporting and partially managing ESG assurance engagements, including report assurance, readiness services, and other assurance-related activities with a focus on Carbon Accounting expertise.
- Building capacity within member firms through training and knowledge sharing, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations and guidelines, and keeping teams informed on developments in frameworks and requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for KDN process improvement and standardization, including work paper development and exploring methods to enhance process effectiveness.
- Facilitating the successful deployment and adoption of new services and solutions, acting as a champion for the KDN ESG Assurance program, and effectively communicating with executive partners to foster support and enthusiasm for the benefits of KDN ESG Assurance.
- Significant experience in sustainability assurance or a related field.
- Experience in assurance/audit work with the ability to apply this expertise effectively.
- In-depth technical knowledge of relevant frameworks and the international regulatory and policy context, particularly regarding the GHG Protocol Scope 1, 2, and 3.
- CPA or similar accreditation is preferred.
- Extensive experience applying your knowledge across various sectors, including Oil & Gas and Chemicals.
- Ability to make prompt, sound decisions and work in an agile manner.
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills, with the capacity to work with multiple teams and clients in an international context.
- Experience collaborating with offshore teams and/or on special initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to guide and coach effectively.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, French, or German are advantageous.
- Business development experience.
- Team management experience.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally (up to 25%) as firm policy permits.
- Flexibility to work hours that accommodate global team schedules.
