With teams operating in multiple regions, the HPU collaborates on large-scale projects and supports various departments, including Architecture, Environmental Studies, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Facilitate workshops, presentations, and advocacy efforts with clients.
  • Research and Analysis: Perform desk-based research, literature reviews, and draft cultural heritage assessments; conduct site evaluations.
  • Design Contributions: Offer heritage-informed design recommendations, including conservation and urban planning strategies.
  • Report Development: Prepare specialized reports such as Statements of Significance, townscape assessments, and Environmental Statements.
  • Consultant Oversight: Evaluate technical submissions from external consultants.
  • Proposal Preparation: Develop proposals for prospective projects.
  • Professional Assistance: Support urban planning and design initiatives, including document preparation and presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency in GIS (particularly ArcMapPRO) and Adobe software; familiarity with additional design tools is advantageous (training provided).
  • Demonstrated expertise in landscape archaeology, environmental assessments, and cultural heritage practices.
  • Strong understanding of conservation principles and legal frameworks, with an appreciation for diverse regional contexts.
  • Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective time management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for site assessments.
