Job Title: Conservation and Urban Design Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Conservation, Heritage and Design Team for a dynamic and committed individual to support the Council's professional Conservation, Heritage and Design advice service.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide specialist advice on built heritage and urban design matters, analysing, interpreting, reporting, and presenting information to assist the Council and its customers in making appropriate decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist advice on built heritage and urban design matters
  • Analyse, interpret, report, and present information to support decision-making
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Historic England and The National Lottery Heritage Fund
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality and consistent service to internal and external customers
  • Use a variety of IT systems and software applications to gather information and communicate ideas and advice effectively
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in conservation of the built historic environment or equivalent
  • Experience of local authority working on historic built environment and urban design led schemes
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with attention to detail
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office and design packages such as AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
