Teaching Assistant for Pupils with Autism

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Teaching Assistant to join our partnership school as a support staff member within the ASB Base. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to provide effective assistance and contribute to the overall positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils with autism in a small class setting within the ASB Base
- Create a positive and encouraging environment that is engaging for pupils
- Build trusting relationships with staff and pupils, offering social and emotional support when required
- Show understanding and adhere to the school's safeguarding policies
- Assist in preparing new learning materials where required
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can assist with obtaining this)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council
- Two professional references covering 24 months
- Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel)
The school is based in Cwmbran and educates children from the age of 11 up to 16. The school has two dedicated class bases to support pupils with hearing impairments and autism. We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to help support pupils with Autism within the ASD Base.
We welcome applications from individuals who have personal experience or are willing to develop skills in supporting children with special education needs.
