Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and nurturing environment for students with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges.

The ideal candidate will have empathy and understanding, being able to relate to the students' challenges and provide calm, reassuring support. Resilience is also essential, as working with students who have behavioural issues can be challenging.

Key qualities and skills for this position include:

  • Empathy and Understanding: Providing calm, reassuring support to students with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges.
  • Resilience: Navigating difficult situations effectively while working with students who have behavioural issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborating with class teachers and other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students.
  • Adaptability: Being flexible in approaches to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Patience: Working with pupils who may struggle with their emotions or learning.
  • Promoting a Positive Atmosphere: Encouraging a positive learning environment and reinforcing good behaviour.
  • Behaviour Management Strategies: Knowledge of and experience with various behaviour management techniques.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for students with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges. Job requirements:

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain this)
  • To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Two professional references covering 24 months

While having experience working with children who have special education needs in a professional setting is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or are willing to fully engage and develop skills in this area.
