Job Title: Timber Frame Designer

Location: Warrington

Thorn Baker Group is seeking a skilled Timber Frame Designer to join their team. As a key member of the design team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from residential to commercial, and contribute to the company's mission of delivering high-quality, sustainable buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate timber frame structures, including wall and floor panels, using 3D CAD software.
  • Prepare and manage building information models (BIM) to ensure accurate and efficient construction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with building regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of timber frame design, materials, and construction methods.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to site teams and factory colleagues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in modern methods or offsite construction.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Inventor, and experience with WoodEngine, Consultec, Horizon, or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of materials, components, and current building regulations.
  • Experience with steel detailing, I-Joist floor design, and trussed roofs is highly desirable.
  • Revit and Pamir experience is a plus, but not essential.
