The Consumer Insights Specialist plays a pivotal role in representing the voice of the consumer within International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) and is instrumental in driving regional sales through insightful intelligence aimed at enhancing the consumer product experience.
IFF is seeking a Consumer Insights Specialist to undertake a 12-month assignment focused on sensory and consumer research projects that align with business opportunities and corporate strategies.
As a Consumer Insights Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage sensory and consumer research initiatives, particularly within the snack category. You will collaborate closely with the creation and design teams to extract sensory and consumer insights that are crucial for product design and formulation. Additionally, you will work alongside commercial and marketing teams to ensure effective customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in sensory and consumer research, demonstrating strategic thinking, teamwork, and a results-driven approach. A genuine passion for the field is essential to make a meaningful impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Driving the development of high-impact projects for leading snack customers by utilizing available internal insights.
• Proactively managing the snack project pipeline, evaluating and prioritizing requests for support, and engaging with stakeholders to align on strategies and resource allocation.
• Designing and implementing sensory and consumer research methodologies to generate actionable insights that inform product design and development in collaboration with technical partners.
• Analyzing complex consumer and sensory data using advanced statistical techniques.
• Effectively communicating and presenting insights and methodologies to various stakeholders, including project teams and leadership.
Required Qualifications
• A Master’s or PhD in Sensory Science, Experimental Psychology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in sensory and consumer research methodologies, including both qualitative and quantitative testing.
• Strong skills in statistical analysis, with the ability to work with dynamic descriptive data and modeling techniques such as preference mapping or Design of Experiment.
• Capability to craft compelling narratives driven by data to deliver valuable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
