About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our world-class Technical/Process Safety team in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will lead and support on a range of projects, develop junior engineers, and enhance your own technical expertise.


As part of a leading consultancy, you will successfully lead the delivery of safety commissions and enhance our client's capabilities. You will support external clients and their ongoing operations within high-hazard industries such as Oil & Gas, Low Carbon, and Renewables, contributing significantly to the energy transition.


Key Responsibilities
  • Technical lead for project delivery, ensuring technical excellence and building on our company's tradition of success.
  • Conducting consultancy safety scopes, including QRA, Formal Safety Assessments, COMAH, and other relevant studies for major hazard industries.
  • Authoring technical reports to a high standard and reviewing the work of others.
  • Leading junior engineers on projects, providing technical guidance, and mentoring support.
  • Preparing cost estimates and bids for new work scopes, ensuring commercial success.
  • Project engineering to ensure studies and projects are delivered in compliance with agreed scope, budgets, and schedules.
  • Participating in HAZID, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other risk assessment workshops.
  • Engaging directly with clients, developing strong relationships, and selling our services to win new work.


Requirements
  • Degree qualified in an engineering or related subject.
  • Chartered with a relevant institution.
  • A proactive team player with excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in Process/Technical Safety, preferably in the Energy industry.
  • Experience in risk and safety management, including QRA and other safety techniques.
  • Familiar with relevant legislation and industry standards, such as COMAH, DSEAR, and Safety Case Regulations.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports to a high standard and check the work of others.
  • Excellent time-management skills, with proven ability to work to deadlines.
  • Experience in a client-facing role, with a commercial understanding of consultancy business challenges.
