Clinical Scientist Opportunity in Radiotherapy Physics

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Radiotherapy Physics team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), providing clinical scientific and physics services to the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. The Department has a comprehensive radiotherapy service, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Varian TrueBeams, CT-simulators, and Eclipse treatment planning system.

The postholder will be expected to work collaboratively with the team to provide scientific support and advice to the external beam treatment planning service. This will involve producing and checking external beam treatment plans, providing scientific advice to radiographers and clinicians, and participating in research and development projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of scientific support and advice to the external beam treatment planning service.
  • Produce and check external beam treatment plans, both routine and complex.
  • Provide scientific advice to radiographers and clinicians.
  • Participate in research and development projects.
  • Assist with the training of Radiotherapy trainee Clinical Scientists, Planning Radiographers, and other students.
Requirements
  • First Degree in a Physical Science or Equivalent.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Significant postgraduate experience or equivalent in Radiotherapy Physics.
Skills
  • Ability to operate complex equipment with high accuracy.
  • Good scientific skills, including application of scientific method and interpretation of data.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
