Physiotherapist Specialist

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our esteemed adult primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional person-centered care to adults with PCD living across the southwest of England.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the PCD diagnostic service to ensure timely access to diagnostics and physiotherapy care for adult patients.
- Work closely with the current B7 physiotherapist and clinical nurse specialists to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Provide expert respiratory physiotherapy techniques, including advanced airway clearance techniques, exercise, pelvic floor health, breathing pattern disorders, NIV, and palliative care.
- Assess patient symptoms via telephone or email and triage patients appropriately.
- Teach and educate wider multidisciplinary teams, therapy teams, and students on respiratory physiotherapy best practices.
- Lead on drug reaction assessments for nebulised therapies.
- Master's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent level of experience.
- Significant relevant clinical experience or ability to demonstrate significant experience in physiotherapy practice.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Attendance at post-graduation courses or conferences relevant to clinical area.
- Able to demonstrate sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas.
- Experience working in an acute hospital setting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Diplomacy and ability to work autonomously.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to take the initiative and influence others.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
