Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented NPD Technologist who is passionate about innovation and eager to contribute to a thriving business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept creation and recipe formulation to customer presentations and product launch.
  • Design and create novel recipes and formats, prepare samples in the development kitchen, coordinate taste testing sessions, and refine products based on feedback.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure that innovative ideas are technically, commercially, and operationally viable for market introduction.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with retail partners and ingredient suppliers to ensure alignment and quality.
  • Evaluate customer briefs to uncover development opportunities and identify gaps in the product lineup.
  • Coordinate with both new and existing ingredient suppliers, manage sample orders, and gather essential commercial and technical data, including quotes and specifications.
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager during ingredient sourcing processes, creating comparative samples and organizing blind taste tests for team evaluation.

  • A driven and imaginative individual with a keen interest in culinary trends.
  • Strong understanding of the product development cycle within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities, capable of managing development projects and collaborating within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient presentation skills for showcasing new products to clients.
  • Possession of a Food Science or STEM-related degree.
  • A valid driving license and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Compensation Package:

Competitive salary up to £33k, inclusive of a company pension scheme, healthcare benefits, 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, employer pension contributions up to 6%, and an 8% personal bonus.
