Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs or additional learning requirements.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a teaching assistant, particularly in a one-to-one capacity, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized support to students with SEMH difficulties
- Assisting in the implementation of tailored learning programmes based on each student's EHCP
- Working closely with class teachers and SENCO to ensure effective delivery of support and intervention
- Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitoring and tracking students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required

Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant, particularly in a one-to-one capacity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or completing an application for a new check.
