Job Summary:

Huntress is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including opening new accounts, processing customer payments, and preparing and reviewing monthly accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening new accounts and credit checking
  • Processing and allocating customer payments
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly accounts, including prepayments, accruals, journals, and closing the month in Sage
  • Credit control
  • Processing monthly payroll and submission to HMRC and pension provider
  • Bank postings and reconciliations, as well as regular customer/supplier account reconciliation
  • Monitoring cash flow and reporting to the Director
  • Quarterly VAT returns and assisting with the year-end accounts if required
  • Order processing, collecting payments, sending invoices and statements, issuing returns and credit notes
  • Answering customer queries
  • Liaising with suppliers, monitoring cost prices, ordering stock, allocating delivery notes, and producing customs documentation when required
  • Ensuring company paperwork and certifications are up to date, including staff training
  • Approving and monitoring staff sickness and holiday, as well as processing staff monthly expenses

Requirements:

  • Experienced within bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
  • Minimum AAT 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Use of Sage Line 50
  • Confident to solely handle the daily accounts duties
