Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team in Cambridge. As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software to control lab instruments and interfacing with the C#-based user interface.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and test software applications to control and interrogate hardware such as cameras.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets the requirements of our customers.
  3. Develop software engineering best practices and use of IDEs like MS Visual Studio.
  4. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in digital imaging and camera systems.

Requirements

  1. A good degree in computer science or other applicable subject from a well-respected university.
  2. Substantial hands-on software development experience using C++. NET, COM, and familiarity with software engineering best practices and use of IDEs like MS Visual Studio.
  3. Expertise in digital imaging, camera systems, and interfacing with hardware.
  4. Full right to work in the UK without restriction, time limit, or sponsorship.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of WPF/XAML, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, and Transact SQL.
  • Experience with Subversion and NUnit.
