Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective upkeep of the premises and surrounding areas, along with managing certain technical and administrative responsibilities to optimize their functionality. The goal is to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all users of the facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all pathways, roads, and outdoor spaces are well-maintained and free from hazards, implementing safety measures during adverse weather conditions.
- Oversee cleaning staff to guarantee that all tasks are completed efficiently, while also being prepared to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Proactively plan and execute repairs and maintenance tasks to uphold the overall condition of the facilities, including electrical, plumbing, glazing, and carpentry work as required.
- Monitor the heating systems and report any issues to management to ensure optimal resource use.
- Uphold Health and Safety standards by maintaining accurate records and addressing any compliance failures. Ensure that all contractor work adheres to Health and Safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and promptly address any recommendations from health and safety evaluations and maintenance inspections.
- Serve as Fire Warden, assisting with fire drills and suggesting safety improvements as necessary. Ensure that fire safety equipment is regularly checked and documented.
- Manage the Legionella Management plan and perform necessary water system checks.
- Maintain a foundational understanding of Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Asbestos Management, and other relevant regulations, with training provided as needed.
- Regularly review and update Health and Safety policies to ensure the safety of all individuals on site.
- Implement a preventative maintenance schedule and conduct routine inspections of the facilities to identify and report any required repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies regarding Health and Safety, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Adhere to the organization's Safeguarding Policy to promote the welfare of all individuals using the facilities.
- This position requires a satisfactory enhanced background check and references.
