Position Overview:

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Patient Transport Specialist within our organization. This role is essential in ensuring that individuals receive the necessary care and support during their transportation to medical appointments.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Patient Transport Specialist, your primary duty will be to safely transport elderly, ill, and vulnerable individuals to and from healthcare facilities. This role can involve working independently or as part of a team, necessitating a valid UK driving license and a good level of physical fitness.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing compassionate transportation for individuals at the end of life, maintaining a high level of empathy.
  • Establishing rapport through effective communication with patients and their families.
  • Assisting with the safe lifting and securing of patients in and out of the vehicle.
  • Facilitating the transfer of patients to appropriate medical staff upon arrival at treatment centers.
  • Supporting patients during transfers between beds, chairs, and other medical settings.
  • Addressing the needs of individuals with challenging behaviors or mental health conditions.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment within the transport vehicle.

Candidate Requirements:

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A strong commitment to patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in sensitive situations.
  • A calm and careful driving approach, with a maximum of three penalty points on the driving license.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to work well in a team.
  • Physical fitness suitable for patient handling.
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Familiarity with the local area.
